BRONCHOSCOPY

Bronchoscopy is performed in the day theatre at the hospital. It is used for identifying lesions in the bronchial tree and to obtain samples in the lungs for analysis. Malignancy and infections can be confirmed by analysing the bronchial fluid. With the help from the anaesthetist, the patient is sedated. The procedure is well tolerated. The entire procedure may take 20 to 30 minutes.

Patient can be discharged home on the same day.
