SLEEP  STUDY

Sleep study is used to investigate patients with snoring and excessive daytime sleepiness. Snoring is commonly seen in our society. Only 10 to 20% of snorers have significant obstructive sleep apnoea.

Sleep studies can be done at home or in the hospital. The accuracy between the two types of sleep study is same. Patients will find it more relaxing and natural from having the test done at home. Sleep studies may detect the severity of snoring and most importantly if obstructive sleep apnoea is present in the individual. If so, the severity of the disorder to help to tailor appropriate treatment.
